• Schedule: This is a Flexible Schedule (0-40 hours per week).

This position has been established to perform a variety of tasks involving short order cooking, janitorial, bussing and other related duties for the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at NAS Key West. This is a flex temporary position without benefits (0-40 hours per week based on program needs)

Key Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:OR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Short Order Cooking: Prepares grilled sandwich items such as cheeseburgers, grilled ham and cheese. Uses fryer for such items as French fries and fried chicken sandwiches. Cuts meats and prepares sandwiches such as a ham and turkey club. Prepares chef salads, sets up salad bar. Prepares coffee and tea for serving. Stocks and readies grill area for preparing of food.

May be required to help prepare full course meals on special occasions; serves food cafeteria-style to diners and/or carries pre-ordered food to tables. Janitorial: Vacuums carpets, cleans furniture, washes floors. Performs a full range of cleaning tasks in the building including washing walls, baseboards, windows and ledges, cleaning appliances, counters, vents, mirrors, commodes and urinals. Empties ash trays, waste and garbage containers.

Bussing: Removes dishes and utensils from tables. Resets tables with place mats, utensils, napkins, sugar, salt, etc. Sets up or assists in setting up and taking down tables and chairs for special parties or functions. Other: May operate cash register and make associated reports when collecting payment for meals. Performs other related duties as assigned.
