Job summary

Trinity Services Group seeks a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate workers in a correctional facility, directing meal prep and service per menus and recipes. You report to a Food Service Director and operate on site inside the jail.

The ideal candidate has a passion for food service, knowledge of regulations, and a team-oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt to changing needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required by 18 years of age.
• Experience in institutional food service preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling regulations helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service shifts.
• Serve meals on schedule following department procedures.
• Use utensils/equipment to cook and portion food per recipes and nutrition needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment.
• Stand/walk for long periods; assist as needed.
• Handle additional duties as required.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility.

You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
