Canteen at Lone Star College Houston is hiring immediately for a seasonal Food Service Utility. The role keeps kitchen work areas clean, supports food prep spaces, and helps with front-of-house setup during the shift from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Previous 2 years of food service experience are preferred. This position offers hourly pay from $16.00 to $18.00 and benefits for both full-time and part-time associates as described by Compass Group.

Responsibilities

• Maintains kitchen work areas; keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly.
• Sweeps and mops floors; ensure safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and handles waste; hoses/steam cleans cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assists with banquet table and front-of-house setup.
• Loads/unloads and delivers supplies and product.
• Distributes utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

• Sweeps and mops floors to comply with safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and places it into designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assists with banquet table and front of the house set up.
• Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
