Job summary

Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education at Kean University in Union, NJ is hiring immediately for food service utility roles. The positions cover full‑time and part‑time schedules from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, with varied days. Prior food service and sanitation experience is preferred.

Pay ranges from $17.00 to $19.00 per hour, with a referral bonus for internal employees. Essential duties include maintaining clean kitchen areas, washing surfaces, trash removal, and assisting with banquet

Responsibilities

• Keeps kitchen work areas clean and orderly; maintains equipment and utensils.
• Sweeps and mops floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators and food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and disposes of waste properly.
• Transfers supplies between storage and work areas.
• Assist with banquet setup and front-of-house tasks.
• Assist with loading/unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.

• We are hiring immediately for full time and part time FOOD SERVICE UTILITY positions.
• Location: Kean University - 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. Note: online applications accepted only.

Job Summary

Summary: Maintains kitchen work areas, and keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sweeps and mops floors to comply with safety and sanitation standards.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
• Removes trash and places it into designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assists with banquet table and front of the house set up.
• Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
