Job summary

Signal Centers is seeking a part-time Food Service worker in Tennessee. The role offers roughly 20 hours per week with a daily shift from 12:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, supporting classrooms and the Adult Center with meal distribution and dish handling.

Qualified candidates need basic literacy and math skills, at least one year in food service, and may need a HS Diploma/GED for advancement. Signal Centers is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy skills: read, write and follow written instructions.
• Basic math skills: count, chart and measure.
• At least 1 year previous experience in Food Service; program substitute allowed for experience.

Responsibilities

• Taking a consensus of the needed dishes and utensils for all classrooms and the Adult Center.
• Distribution of panned food to each classroom and the Adult Center.
• Scraping, soaking, and washing of all dishes.
• Assist in cleaning the equipment used in food transport.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of food preparation and transport areas.
• Adherence to kitchen safety rules and the Tennessee Department of Health and Environmental standards (daily chlorine testing).
