Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen staff in a correctional facility. The role includes preparing and serving meals, training workers, and ensuring safety and compliance with food-handling regulations. The position reports to a Food Service Director and operates on-site inside a jail.

The ideal candidate has a background in institutional food service, is adaptable, and team-oriented. Weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, 18+ years old.
• Preferred experience in institutional food service or restaurant.
• Shift includes weekend evenings (Sat/Sun/Mon 11:00am–7:00pm).

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen staff during food prep and service.
• Serve meals according to schedules and department procedures.
• Prepare food using recipes and equipment, ensuring portions meet nutrition requirements.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates.

About This Position

Must be able to work the following shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday 11:00am - 7:00pm

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You’ll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
