Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen staff in a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve meals according to menus, train teammates, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

The role reports to a Food Service Director and requires working on-site inside the jail. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and experience in institutional food service or restaurants, with flexibility and teamwork as core

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train staff in a correctional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen staff during food prep and service.
• Serve meals according to schedule and departmental procedures.
• Use kitchen tools to prepare and portion food per recipes and nutritional guidelines.
• Train other food service workers and ensure a safe, clean work environment.
• Support operational needs and adapt to changing work demands.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
