Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to manage inmate labor and lead kitchen teams inside a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve food following menus and work instructions, reporting to the Food Service Director, on site.

The ideal candidate has institutional food service or restaurant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work in a dynamic, regulated environment while training and guiding teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and service.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to procedures.
• Use utensils and equipment to cook food according to recipes and portioning guidelines.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates.
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking and standing.
• Be able to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Other duties as needed.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food. You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
