Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and food service operations inside a correctional facility. The role involves preparing and serving a variety of meals, training staff, and ensuring compliance with menus and safety standards.

You will report to the Food Service Director and work on-site in a jail setting. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and preferably possess prior institutional food service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service shifts.
• Serve meals according to planned schedules and department procedures.
• Cook and portion meals using appropriate utensils to meet nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand, lift, bend, kneel, push and move for extended periods as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.

• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.

• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.

• Train other food service workers.

• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.

• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.

• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.

• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:

  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.

• Preferred:

  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
