You will learn essential kitchen skills, work with a team that takes pride in serving veterans, and perform duties such as food prep, tray assembly, beverage tasks, and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Food service experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, restaurant, or other food service operation preferred.
• Ability to read diet information and assemble trays.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare, portion, and plate food items, bag items, and move cases of food products to work area
• Beverage Tasks: Prepare beverages for meals and nourishments, and load, transport, and unload food carts
• Tray Assembly: Set up serving carts, read diet information, assemble trays, and check each tray for accuracy
• Dining Support: Serve plates, transport carts, deliver trays to residents, and refill items such as toast, coffee, and condiments
• Sanitation Duties: Clean dishes, dining areas, food preparation spaces, equipment, floors, and walls
• Record Keeping: Record inventory use, temperatures, meal counts, and assist with special holiday food arrangements
