Job summary

Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Food Service Worker at Wilkes RYDC in Washington, GA, to learn and perform basic food preparation, heating and service to customers under direct supervision.

You will handle money, clean and maintain work areas and equipment, restock supplies, and support sanitation inspections as part of a team delivering healthy meals in a state facility.

Qualifications

• An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed.
• Preferred Qualifications may be added by the agency.

Responsibilities

• Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
• Cleans, peels, slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
• Conducts or assists with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections
• Receives payment for food items
• Replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
• Stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
• Unpacks and stores supplies, raw and prepared food products
