Job summary

NHC HealthCare West Plains is seeking a Food and Nutrition Service Partner to support the production and service of patient meals in a healthcare setting. This role involves light food preparation, food delivery, kitchen cleaning, and adhering to diet plans for residents.

You will interact with residents and families as part of a hospital dining program, assisting cooks and assembling meal trays while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

Healthcare food service experience preferred.
Ability to assist cooks and follow dietary plans.
Willingness to perform light prep and dish duties.

Responsibilities

Assist in receiving, storing and portioning food and supplies.
Scrape, wash and sanitize dishes and utensils; wrap flatware as needed.
Transport and stock clean dishes and utensils for service.
Clean the dish area and maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
Assist cook with food preparation and serving per planned menus.
Assemble meal trays and deliver carts to floors; check diet accuracy.

Position: Food and Nutrition Service Partner

A Food Service Team Member performs duties associated with the production and service of patient meals, such as minimal food prep, food delivery, kitchen cleaning, and other duties as assigned.

We provide restaurant‑style dining for our residents and their families, giving you the opportunity to interact with them.

Position Highlights

Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and assure quality products. Dates, labels, and stores items properly. Uses proper food handling techniques.
Responsible for scraping, stacking, washing, and sanitizing dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, and for removing broken and chipped dishes and glassware from use. Wraps flatware if needed.
Properly transports and stores dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, and ensures sufficient quantities of clean and sanitized items to meet meal preparation and service schedules.
Cleans and sanitizes the dish machine and dish room. Empties and cleans/sanitizes the trash cans. Keeps work area clean and uncluttered and completes assigned cleaning duties.
Assists cook, as needed, in preparing and serving foods for all diets (therapeutic, mechanically altered, etc.) according to planned menus, using proper portions and special diet items. Prepares beverages, breads, and other menu items as assigned.
Assembles meal trays on the tray line and checks trays for accuracy of diets, preferences, and quality. Delivers carts to floors as needed.
Businesses tables in dining area(s) as needed; cleans and sanitizes tabletops in dining area(s).
