The Citadel in Charleston, SC is seeking a Food Service Manager/Assistant Director of Dining Services to lead dining operations in Coward Hall Mess Hall. You will collaborate with the Chef and management team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals and exceptional guest experiences for a premier leadership institution.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of food service management experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.

Job Summary

As a Food Service Manager/Assistant Director of Dining Services at The Citadel in beautiful and historic Charleston, SC, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining and event experiences at one of the nation’s premier leadership institutions. In this dynamic role, you will oversee all aspects of dining operations within the Coward Hall Mess Hall. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top‑quality food.


• Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.


• Maintain excellent relationships with the client.


• Manage, train, and develop associates.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of food service management experience.


• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, and/or related food service operations.


• Strong leadership and communication skills.


• Financial experience and business acumen skills.


• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.


• Associate’s degree is preferred.
