Ernest Health, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Manager to lead the New Braunfels Regional Rehabilitation Hospital's food service operations in New Braunfels, Texas.

This role focuses on delivering safe, nutritious meals to patients and coordinating with clinical teams to support recovery and daily therapy schedules. The Manager will oversee staff schedules, menu planning, compliance with food safety standards, and cost control while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered service in a warm

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred
• Certified Food Protection Manager
• NM: Graduate of a state-approved course with 90+ hours of food service supervision or grad of a dietetic tech/assistant program; preferred elsewhere
• SC: Dietitian, ADA-compliant education or certification, or 3 years military meal service/management

• Oversee all aspects of the Food Service Department, including planning, organizing, and evaluating food prep and service.
• Provide technical guidance in food prep and service techniques.
• Align department practices with the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred
• Certified Food Protection Manager
• New Mexico: Graduate of a state-approved course that provided 90 or more hours of classroom instruction in food service supervision or graduate of a dietetic technician or dietetic assistant program required in NM. Preferred in all other states.
• South Carolina: Dietitian, Graduate of State approved Dietetic Technician or course of study that meets ADA requirements, Certified Dietary Manager, or 3 years military experience in meal service and management of SC.

• Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency
• Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies procedures and guidelines in assessing nutrition status based on patient ages.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the Food Service Department to include planning, developing, organizing, and evaluating all aspects of food preparation and service to ensure quality food service. May provide technical guidance in food preparation and service techniques. Integrates the hospital’s mission and "Guiding Principles" into daily practice.
