Job summary

Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas seeks an experienced Food Service Manager to lead the dietary services department, overseeing meal planning, preparation, patient meals, sanitation, inventory, compliance, and staff performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred.
  • Certified Food Protection Manager
  • ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Current Food Protection Manager Certification or obtain one prior to hire date.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all food service operations, including patient meals, cafeteria services, and special events.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, infection prevention, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage departmental staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee food purchasing, inventory control, budgeting, and cost management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure patients receive appropriate therapeutic diets and nutritional support.
  • Promote exceptional customer service and continuously improve patient satisfaction scores.
  • Maintain quality assurance programs and monitor department performance metrics.

Job Summary

Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an experienced and customer‑focused Food Service Manager to lead the daily operations of our dietary services department. The Food Service Manager is responsible for overseeing meal planning, food preparation, patient meal services, sanitation programs, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and departmental staff performance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patients, visitors, and employees receive high‑quality nutritional services that support recovery, healing, and overall satisfaction.

Working closely with clinical teams, including Registered Dietitians, Nursing, and hospital leadership, the Food Service Manager ensures dietary services meet physician orders, therapeutic diet requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who is passionate about service excellence, patient experience, team development, and operational efficiency.
