Job summary

Lancaster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster, PA seeks a Food Service Kitchen Manager to lead the dining services operations, ensuring safe, nutritious meals and compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state nursing home dietary regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the Dietary Department daily to ensure it is safe and sanitary.
• Inspect storage areas weekly for proper temperatures, cleanliness, and order.
• Plan nutritionally balanced and therapeutic meals reflecting residents' likes/dislikes and regulations.
• Purchase food products from approved vendors and maintain cost records within budget.
• Monitor monthly expenditures and hire, orient, train, counsel, discipline, and terminate dietary employees as necessary.
• Direct and supervise all dietary functions and personnel, participate in department and QA meetings.

Food Service Kitchen Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Service Kitchen Manager to join our team at Lancaster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a local Nursing Facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. As a key member of our Dining Services department, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of our kitchen, ensuring quality nutritional meals are prepared and served in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect the Dietary Department daily to ensure it is safe and sanitary


• Inspect storage areas on a weekly basis for proper temperatures, cleanliness, and order


• Plan nutritionally balanced and therapeutic meals that reflect the likes and dislikes of residents, as well as Public Health regulations


• Purchase food products from approved vendors and maintain cost records to work within budget guidelines


• Monitor monthly expenditures and hire, orient, train, counsel, discipline, and terminate dietary employees as necessary


• Direct and supervise all dietary functions and personnel, and participate in department head meetings, QAPI meetings, and the Manager on Duty program

Qualifications:

• Must be knowledgeable of Federal and State rules and regulations regarding nursing home dietary requirements


• Graduate of a culinary or nutritional program preferred


• Prior food service experience in a long-term care setting, preferred


• Prior supervisory experience, preferred


• Must be CDM certified


• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance


• Must follow CMS mandate/guidelines for vaccination
