Job summary

Malden Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Helper to assist in serving meals, operating cash registers, and supporting daily lunch program operations across multiple schools in Malden, MA.

The role requires ability to lift 40+ pounds, reliable transportation, and adherence to program policies. Prior cash handling or school meal experience is a plus. Part-time, 3 hours per day, $21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and others.
• Ability to lift up to and possibly more than 40 pounds.
• Ability to learn the use and care of equipment, materials, utensils, cash registers, and methods used in food service.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must have transportation and be willing to be sent out to any one of our 7 schools.
• Preferred experience in cash handling, working in a food service setting, or in a school breakfast & lunch program.

Responsibilities

• Serve breakfast and lunches and assist in daily kitchen operations.
• Complete paperwork and learn kitchen equipment handling.
• Operate cash registers and support the lunch program at the school.
• Follow Aramark policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Duties :

• Job assignments may consist of serving breakfast and lunches, completing paperwork, learning and using various kitchen equipment, preparing food, operating cash registers, cleaning and any other duties consistent of running a lunch program at the school.

• Must adhere to all Aramark policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
