Job summary

Damar Services, LLC is seeking an Operations Specialist at the East campus to manage daily food and nutrition operations, including food prep, meal service, sanitation, and compliance with dietary instructions. The role collaborates with the Operations Manager and supports environmental services, inventory, and basic maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen strongly preferred.
• Experience with food preparation, meal service, sanitation, inventory management, receiving, and recordkeeping preferred.
• Experience with special diets, allergen awareness, food safety, and regulatory requirements preferred.
• Experience supporting environmental services, housekeeping, facility readiness, or basic maintenance coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned food preparation, cooking, reheating, holding, portioning, and meal service duties according to approved menus and records.
• Reviews meal counts and production information to ensure adequate preparation of meals and snacks.
• Supports safe and accurate preparation of regular and special diets.
• Verifies food quality, portion size, temperature, appearance, and accuracy before serving.
• Maintains safe food temperatures during receiving, storage, preparation, holding, transport, and service.
• Completes required records: temperature logs, production records, cleaning records, inventory sheets, and meal-count documentation.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, preparation surfaces, and service areas.
• Monitors supplies and communicates shortages or needs to the Operations Manager.
• Assists with opening/closing duties and end-of-shift cleaning.
• Cross-trains with other operational duties as daily needs dictate.
• Interacts respectfully with clients, families, staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
