Job summary

Elior Collegiate Dining is seeking a Food Service Director to lead the Collegiate School Dining team at Friends University in Wichita. You will supervise operations, hire/train staff, and ensure culinary, safety, and sanitation standards are met while coordinating with leadership to meet budgets and forecasts.

The role emphasizes staff development, quality service, and strong communication with hourly staff and executives in a fast-paced campus dining environment.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial & catering cooking.
• Excellent communication skills with hourly staff and company executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services.

Responsibilities

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our Collegiate School Dining team in Wichita. As a food service director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that students, faculty and clients never miss a meal.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least five years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial & catering cooking.
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

• Previous experience in higher education dining services
• Previous experience in contract management services
• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

Up to $80,000 per year based on experience + bonus
