• Working knowledge of basic spreadsheet, word processing, and POS software for efficient operation.
• Minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification or equivalent.
• Alternatives to these qualifications may be considered by the district per requirements.

Position: The Food Service Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the district's food service program with responsibility for ensuring Food Service program is in compliance with Federal and State standards. This 205-day position oversees all aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, budgeting, procurement, inventory management, staff supervision, program development, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will foster a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation that supports student health, wellness, and academic achievement. Responsibilities include managing food service personnel, overseeing meal production and distribution, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, preparing and submitting required state and federal reports, and ensuring compliance with all applicable school nutrition regulations.

The Director will collaborate closely with the Business & Operations Manager, and district leadership to support facility needs, equipment planning, staffing, operational improvements, and long-term program development.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and financial management skills, along with knowledge of school nutrition programs, procurement requirements, and food service operations. Job Requirements

• QUALIFICATIONS:
  1.Bachelor’s degree, front an accredited college or university, in a related field (i.e. Food & Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition Education, Culinary Arts, Business or related field)
  2.Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in school food service or cafeteria operations, and 3–5 years of experience in program or vendor management, budgeting, or compliance oversight.
  3.Thorough knowledge of the administration, food, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques relative to food service operations;
  4,Knowledge of basic spreadsheet, word processing, and point-of-sale software, as necessary for the efficient operation of the food service program;
  5.Minimums of five years of supervisory experience;
  6.Working knowledge of safe food handling procedures, to include ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certification;
  7.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Business & Operations Manager and/or the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with district requirements and state and federal law.
