Job summary

ShopRite of Vails Gate is seeking a Food Service Clerk to deliver a great customer experience through attentive, friendly service and knowledge-based recommendations. You will support the Food Service Manager daily in the department, maintain clean displays, prepare foods per recipes, and ensure safe handling and temperatures across all products.

The role requires English literacy, basic math, physical stamina to lift up to 60 lbs, and the ability to work in varying temperatures while following

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak English and perform basic math.
• Able to stand/walk for full shifts and lift 25 lbs regularly, up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Work in varying temperatures and handle fresh, dried, and processed foods with care.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner and work cooperatively with others.
• Operate department equipment and follow safety, QA and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Stock, clean and rotate product to maintain appealing displays.
• Prepare products (salads, sandwiches, entrees, catering orders) per recipes and standards.
• Ensure proper temperatures in display cases and storage areas; follow proper receiving and storing procedures.
• Maintain signage and handle equipment safely; follow QA and health regulations.
