This is a full-time position with varied shifts and weekend rotations required. You will enjoy an additional $1/hour weekend shift differential for all weekend shifts.

Shift: Sun-Sat varied, 11am-7:30pm and 6:30pm-3am when necessary

Banner Estrella Medical Center is a 317-bed acute care hospital providing a full range of health care services to the fast-growing communities of west Phoenix. Position Summary

This position performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to ensure accurate revenue collection and high-quality customer service.

Core Functions

1. Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers.
2. Stores, counts, deposits, and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with facility policies.
3. Maintains all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive.
4. Provides service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines. Responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution.
5. Performs cleaning, stocking, sign maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
6. Interacts with patients, food service personnel, hospital staff, visitors, and families. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to resolve issues promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

Effective interpersonal communication skills, friendly customer service attitude, ability to calculate and count change accurately and rapidly. Good reading, writing, and math skills. Ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests. Must learn POS system, beverage equipment, and cleaning equipment.

For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, a food handler's card is required within 30 days of hire, except in Tucson and Colorado where it is not required.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Additional related education and experience are preferred.
