Job summary

Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Food Service Worker for Martha K Glaze RYDC in Hampton, GA. Under supervision you will learn to prepare, heat and finish cooking items, serve customers, and handle money for food items.

Responsibilities include cleaning, receiving and disbursing payments, replenishing supplies, and storing food properly to prevent spoilage. This role supports cafeteria operations within the DJJ system.

Qualifications

• An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
• Cleans, peels, slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
• Conducts or assists with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections
• Receives payment for food items
• Replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
• Stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
• Unpacks and stores supplies, raw and prepared food products
