Job summary

Unidine, part of Compass Group USA, is hiring for Food Service Worker positions at Island Nursing and Rehab Center in Holtsville, NY. This role supports our dining services with preparing, presenting and serving meals in a fast-paced environment.

We offer full-time and part-time schedules with varied shifts from early morning to evening. Prior food service experience is preferred, and compensation ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality and portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
