Job summary

Fort Worth Zoo in Fort Worth, TX seeks a friendly Food Service Associate to support daily food preparation and guest service for visitors and staff.

You will handle cash at the register, maintain clean service areas, follow health and safety guidelines, and work in a team-oriented outdoor setting with irregular hours.

This entry-level role requires being at least 16 years old, and prior food service or cash handling experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must be sixteen (16) years of age or older.
• Prior fast food experience desirable.
• Prior cash handling experience desirable.
• Experience working courteously with the public.

Summary

This position assists in all operational aspects of the Food Service department. Daily tasks include the safe, daily preparation of all food products for guests and employees.

• Daily preparation and cooking of food products in accordance with health department guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of food service locations
• Operate cash register following established zoo cash handling procedures
• Maintain highest level of guest and employee satisfaction
• Follow and adhere to all established safety standards and policies

• Must be sixteen (16) years of age or older

Education and/or Experience

• Prior fast food experience desirable

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
