The Food Service Assistant is responsible for monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning equipment, receiving payments via a computerized register, and other related duties. The role complies with HACCP guidelines, provides excellent customer service, and fosters effective communication with patrons and staff. The assistant may operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers. Experience in the food industry is preferred.
Must be able to work independently, understand food safety and sanitation, and be on feet for most of the day, walking long distances.
Minimum age of 16 years. Previous customer service, retail, money reconciliation, and food service experience preferred. Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform basic math. On-the-job training will be provided.
Depending on the hire location, ServSafe certification may be required within a specified time frame. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may also be required based on location.
