Food Service Assistant - Part Time 2nd Shift

Join us for the Food Service Assistant - Part Time 2nd Shift role at Advocate Health.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Informs customers of available services, assists with service requests, and reports requests to the Support Center.
  2. Communicates with the Coordinator and Diet Office regularly, reporting customer needs, expectations, and status.
  3. Responds promptly to all communications (oral & written).
  4. Prepares service lines and assembles trays for meal service, delivers food orders, and assembles patient nourishments.
  5. Requisitions and stores supplies, maintains cleanliness of work areas, and disposes of trash properly.
  6. Performs daily floor care and operates equipment as needed.
  7. Participates in educational programs, in-services, and team meetings.
  8. Follows sanitation and HACCP standards, maintains organization and cleanliness.
  9. Attends mandatory training and education programs to support professional development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to prepare service lines, deliver routine food orders, assemble patient nourishment, requisition supplies, and clean areas.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively, including responding to phones.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Frequent lifting, bending, standing, and walking; may require lifting up to 35 lbs. and operating kitchen equipment.
  • Indoor environment with some noise and distractions; outdoor exposure to weather conditions.
  • Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, following safety protocols.
