Job summary

Fisher Island Club in Fisher Island, FL is seeking a Seasonal Food Server to provide warm, attentive service to our members.

You will set up dining spaces, take and deliver orders, upsell beverages, and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service. Previous serving experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining area by setting tables, decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, plates and utensils.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol policies to protect patrons.
• Help guests select food and drinks, present menu, suggest courses, explain chef specials, identify wines.
• Stay informed about menu choices, specials, and kitchen items.
• Record orders accurately and communicate special dietary needs to kitchen/bar staff.
• Serve meals and beverages, deliver accompaniments, and replenish supplies.
• Respond to guests' needs and questions during dining.
• Maintain clean and organized service stations and tables.
• Open and pour wine tableside as needed.
• Close dining experience by presenting bill and collecting payment.
• Attend meetings and assist in training new staff.

Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive member/member interactions while serving members in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our members/members have exceptional dining experiences. Must be passionate about food and service and thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our member/members. Will have a friendly, outgoing disposition and able to service a faced-paced dining environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils
• Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
• Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices, identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
• Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
• Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen, delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars
• Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing dining process
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
• Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
• Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant, inviting patrons to return
• Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; presenting payment to host; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
• Fill in for absent staff as needed
• Assist with special events as needed
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
• Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
• Setup and breakdown station as assigned.
• Maintain service station and equipment.
• Maintain all forms, reports, checks, and vouchers as required.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Assist in training new employees as required.
• Communicate with guests and other employees to ensure smooth operation.
• Comply with Fisher Island standards of service, code of conduct, policies and procedures
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.
