Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Food Science or related field.
• Current tenured associate or full professor with credentials for mid- to senior level.
• International recognition and demonstrated leadership in programs or committees.
• Strong scholarship record, funding history, and teaching excellence.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Commitment to fostering a collegial, inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department's vision and goals for research, education, outreach, and inclusive excellence.
• Serve as the authority on research, education, outreach, facilities, and personnel matters.
• Provide strategic leadership and implement policy and admin structures.
• Model success and support faculty development with clear expectations.
• Use data-informed insights for planning, accountability, and teaching excellence.
• Develop relationships with other units and external partners to advance the mission.
• Engage the Advisory Board to support industrial and alumni engagement, student success, fundraising.
