Job summary

Rentokil North America is seeking a Food Safety Specialist to support our hotel, restaurant, and grocery clients in upholding brand standards, ensuring exceptional food quality, and delivering friendly, customer-focused service to enhance the overall guest experience.

The role focuses on conducting audits, implementing food safety programs, and training staff, with travel of 50-70% required, including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Meet the requirements to obtain CP-FS certification.
• Available to work Monday-Friday and Saturdays and evenings as needed.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Licenses/certificates as required by regulations (covered by us).
• Strong knowledge of food safety is preferred.
• ServSafe and CP-FS certifications are a plus.
• Excellent listening, organization, communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to measure conformity to regulatory, industry and brand standards.
• Observe food prep and cooking standards to ensure safety and sanitation.
• Partner with clients to address root causes and create corrective action plans.
• Teach and coach clients to create a safer, healthier workplace for THEIR customers.
• Travel 50-70%, or 8-10 days per month, including some evenings and weekends.
• Conducting audits and inspections.
• Implementing and monitoring food safety programs.
• Train and educate staff on food safety practices.
• Investigate food safety incidents and document findings.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain records.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback and work autonomously.
• Organize and prioritize work based on urgency and efficiency.

What do our Food Safety Specialists do?

The primary purpose of this role is to support our hotel, restaurant, and grocery clients in upholding their brand standards, ensuring exceptional food quality, and delivering friendly, customer-focused service to enhance the overall guest experience.

• Conduct assessments that measure conformity to established regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards for clients
• Observe food prep and cooking standards to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation practices
• Partner with clients to address root causes of assessment discrepancies and develop corrective action plans
• Teach and coach clients how to make their workplace a safer and healthier environment for themselves and THEIR customers
• Travel 50%-70%, or 8-10 days per month, including some evening and weekend work

• Strong knowledge of food safety is preferred
• ServSafe and/or CP-FS Certification(s) a plus

Base Pay Range

Hourly: $18.00 - $25.00

While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
