Job summary

Fortrex is recruiting a meticulous Food Safety Sanitor in New York to join our team and uphold top sanitation and safety standards in our food production processes. The role involves performing sanitation steps, following food safety policies, and collaborating with leads to maintain cleanliness across the facility.

The position requires physical tasks, PPE usage, and the ability to work in variable temperatures in a wet environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to take direction and instruction from managers and be accountable for own actions.
• Safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
• Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers, etc.
• Wear employer-specified PPE such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, safety glasses, etc.
• Exposure to chemicals (with PPE required for the task).
• All night standing, lifting, and crouching for periods at a time.
• Perform all tasks safely.
• Use Lock-out tag-out (LOTO).
• Other duties as assigned.
