Job summary

Legacy Bakehouse in East Tennessee is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve our Food Safety and Quality Management System. You will work closely with plant leadership, employees, customers, and suppliers to ensure compliance and foster a strong food safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or certificate in a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, Allergen Management, and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Experience with SQF and GFSI certification programs preferred.
• Experience managing outsourced food safety and environmental testing programs preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising employees and cross-functional projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of food science principles, manufacturing processes, quality assurance systems, and applicable food industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Food Safety & Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations.
• Lead compliance with GFSI requirements, including SQF certification.
• Support production operations to ensure product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate and participate in internal audits, customer audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party audits.
• Oversee outsourced laboratory testing programs, including environmental monitoring and product testing.
• Develop and deliver food safety and quality training programs for employees.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to strengthen food safety and quality culture.
