Johnsonville Watertown is seeking an Assistant Food Safety/Quality Coordinator to advance a best‑in‑world quality culture through leadership and teamwork. You will drive food safety, quality and animal welfare initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes educating team members, supporting plant operations, and coordinating audits and regulatory compliance to ensure products meet high standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
• HACCP Certification preferred.
• GFSI SQF Practitioner or BRC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate members on animal handling, food safety and quality systems.
• Represent food safety and quality on cross‑functional project teams.
• Develop and maintain facility food safety plans, quality plans and SOPs including Redzone Compliance.
• Lead or co‑lead third party audits (SQF and customer).
• Coordinate and liaison with plant operations on food safety policies with internal/external customers.
• Coordinate with third party sanitation and monitor metrics.
• Interface with USDA and other regulatory agencies to ensure GMP and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with continuous improvement and problem-solving for food safety opportunities.
• Back up Food Safety/Quality Coordinator in their absence.
