Job summary

Fresh Express Salads is seeking a Food Safety Quality Assurance Supervisor in Columbia, SC. This role involves developing and maintaining food safety and quality programs to ensure the production of safe and high-quality products.

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Food Science and experience in food manufacturing and quality assurance. Strong technical knowledge and bilingual skills in English/Spanish are preferred, along with proficiency in computer applications.

Job description

The Food Safety Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for developing, administering and maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs that assure the production of high quality, safe products.

Job Functions:

• Supervise the on-line quality assurance technicians to assure compliance to all company, customer quality, and food safety requirements.
• Effectively coach and drive performance improvements of QA Assistant Supervisors, QA Technicians, and Raw Material Inspectors.
• Address performance issues of QA personnel using Chiquita HR guidelines.
• Audit compliance to food safety requirements.
• Carry out root cause analysis and drive sustained improvement at the production level.
• Instill a culture of operational discipline, accuracy, and compliance.
• Prepare and conduct trainings on a range of topics (job specific or other mandatory trainings) for employees at different levels of the organization.
• Ensure that QA department employees are trained in and obey Chiquita's safety rules while carrying out their duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
