Job summary

Tandem Foods is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician for the 2nd shift to help ensure Safe Quality Food standards and product quality. The role emphasizes GMP, food safety, and adherence to BRC standards and quality specifications.

The technician will monitor results, communicate findings to operators and managers, maintain clean work areas, and participate in corrective actions to protect product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Two years of production team experience preferred.
• High School degree or GED or equivalent education.
• Ability to read & write English; numerical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Review results to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Provide feedback to operators and manufacturing managers regarding non-conforming products and packaging.
• Communicate results according to established communication methods.
• Keep assigned area clean per sanitation practices.

Job Description

The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for meeting all the Safe Quality Food Standards including quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product. The Food Safety & QA technicians follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, BRC standards and product quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Review results to ensure compliance with specifications
• Provide feedback to operators and manufacturing managers regarding non-conforming products and packaging
• Communicate results according to established communication methods
• Ensure that assigned area is clean at all times following established cleaning and sanitation practices
• Informs Quality and Production Manager of any food safety problems
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions
• Take corrective actions when measures are out of specification
• Take and document required process, quality measures
• Meet or exceed established targets
• Adhere to the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the general food safety standards of BRC
• Responsible for routine cleaning and general maintenance of the workspace as assigned
• Responsible to verify all product produced by Tandem Foods is into customer specification
• Responsible for verifying production process to meet company and customer standards. (Brix, Moisture, etc.)
• Perform other related duties as assigned, alerting team leaders and managers of idle time.

Requirements
