Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is hiring a food runner/busser to support the Outlet Manager and restaurant servers. You will expedite and buss tables, deliver orders to guests, and assist bartenders as needed.

The role requires physical stamina to lift and transport items, strong communication, and a dedication to guest service in a fast-paced hotel food service environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Ability to move or push items weighing up to 150 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clear dirty tables quickly and reset for service.
• Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations across meal periods.
• Serve beverages and bread to guests and replenish as needed.
• Transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area for cleaning.
• Must be able to work regularly and adhere to attendance rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Assist the Outlet Manager and Restaurant Servers in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, as well as providing guests stellar service. The food runner/busser is also responsible for expediting, bussing, running the orders to the guest tables at service time including providing bar back assistance as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware.
• Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen, and condiments.
• Serve guests with beverages, bread, and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
• Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills

• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 150 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
