Job summary

OSI Group in West Chicago, IL is seeking an entry‑level production operator to run and set up equipment in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. You will calibrate systems, monitor temperatures, collect data, and perform routine maintenance with guidance from supervisors.

The role requires basic reading of recipes and specifications, familiarity with measuring units, and a focus on safety and clean work practices.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Able to analyze data and make recommendations based on observations.
• Able to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Able to read and follow a designated recipe.
• Basic understanding of units of measure and their applications.
• Able to read, understand and follow written specifications, blueprints, or schematics in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of machinery per leadership guidance.
• Set up equipment daily according to production schedule and sanitize at day end.
• Monitor operations and troubleshoot basic issues; notify supervision of major malfunctions.
• Record data and adjust as needed; calibrate systems to time, temp, and positions.
• Read and record temperatures and use measuring devices relevant to the process.
• Work with maintenance to implement preventive maintenance and best practices.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and comply with GMP, food safety, and policies.
