Signature Sauces is seeking a Food Production Batch Operator for 1st and 2nd shifts in Independence, OH. The role involves operating load and batching machines, reading recipes, verifying ingredients and weights, and maintaining equipment according to food safety standards. Training is provided; no prior experience required.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with adherence to GMP and HACCP rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate load and batching machines.
• Read and interpret recipes and procedures.
• Verify batch ingredients and weights.
• Assemble, disassemble, clean and sanitize equipment.
• Set up, operate and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends or processes ingredients.
• Mix or blend ingredients according to recipes using a paddle or agitator.
• Turn valve controls to start equipment and adjust operation.
• Observe equipment for malfunctions and report issues.
• Complete changeovers.
• Know how to use a scale.
• Pre-batch recipes for next day’s production.
• Comply with government regulations and documentation requirements (USDA/HACCP).

• Operation of load and batching machines.

• Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions to supervisors.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read, analyze, and interpret ingredient specifications and recipes, general business periodicals, and or governmental regulations. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, staff and owners.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of weights and measures. Ability to apply concepts such as ratios, and proportions for ingredient and nutritional information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; and talk
or hear. The employee is required to regularly stand, stoop, kneel and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The work environment is quick paced in close quarters. Exposure to heat from equipment and products is frequent. Exposure to cool temperatures form coolers/freezers is
occasional.
