Job summary

Aramark in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Food Prep Worker to prepare and portion meals using daily worksheets and Aramark recipes.

You will maintain rotation, store leftovers properly, keep refrigerators and work areas clean, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are followed. Training is provided.

This role may involve standing for long periods, lifting, and following established food safety procedures to ensure quality and consistency across meals.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in prep work or food service preferred.
• Knowledge of food prep, knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is helpful.
• Ability to read and write to communicate with coworkers.
• Basic math and counting skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items using prep lists and Aramark recipes.
• Rotate stock to maintain freshness and quality.
• Label, date, and store leftovers per standards.
• Keep refrigerators and work areas clean and organized.
• Sanitize stations and equipment at shift end.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment and follow safety policies.
• Complete required training.

Job description

The Food Prep Worker prepares, and portions food items and performs various duties in accordance with production requirements and Aramark sanitation standards. Uses daily worksheets and standardized recipes to cook meals.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes.
• Maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness.
• Manages leftover foods correctly; cover, label, date, and accurately store according to Aramark standards.
• Maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas.
• Ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift (including cleaning of kitchen equipment).
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations.
• Follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
• Completes all required training.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
