Job summary

Rowan Community in Denver, CO seeks a Food & Nutrition Manager to oversee the Food Service Department within a long‑term care setting. You will support the Dietician, supervise staff, and ensure meals meet federal, state, and local standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, a Certified Dietary Manager, food safety certification, and at least five years of supervisory experience. COVID vaccine or exemption is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certified Dietary Manager preferred or eligible.
• Current food safety certification required.
• Minimum five years supervisory experience in hospital, nursing facility, or related food service.
• Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, and personnel management.
• Ability to pass Colorado CAPS background check and other background screening.
• COVID vaccine required or valid exemption.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate food services and activities with related departments.
• Develop and maintain written food service policies and procedures.
• Explain policies to residents, employees, visitors, and agencies.
• Perform administrative duties to control equipment and supplies.
• Develop and maintain tested standard recipes.
• Inspect kitchen, storage, and related areas for upkeep and inventory.
• Interview residents or family to obtain diet history.
• Maintain records of residents' food preferences.
• Provide substitute foods or nutritive options for refusals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
