PennLive in Pittsburgh is seeking a creative, digitally savvy Social Media Creator to enhance our food and drink coverage. This part-time, temporary role requires translating journalism into social-first content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

You’ll produce social cards, vertical videos, explainers and platform-native content to grow reach and deepen audience loyalty locally and nationally.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in journalism/communications.
Two years of relevant social media experience.
Proven ability to build and engage audiences on social platforms.
Understanding of how social platforms apply to news.
Interest in local news and content trends.
Familiarity with analytics for websites and social media.
Ability to work independently, including remotely.
Strong writing and organizational skills.
Comfort across written, visual and audio content.
Tech-savvy: gifs, photo manipulation, video production/editing a plus.

Responsibilities
