Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services at Bolger Center in Potomac, MD, seeks an experienced Food & Beverage supervisor to coordinate staff and operations for events and catering across hotel venues.

You will partner with the Food and Beverage Director to ensure outstanding guest service, optimize costs, and uphold compliance with ARAMARK standards. This full-time role supports banquet and restaurant service with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in banquet style functions
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Works with Food and Beverage Director to ensure high service standards, cost control, and policy compliance
• Assigns tasks to Line Service Workers and oversees department workload
• Monitors event setup, service, and cleanup
• Oversees bar sheets and inventory accuracy of alcohol
• Leads training and scheduling of personnel
• Performs HR functions including recruitment, development, and retention of front line staff
• Manages food production systems and procedures for ordering and serving food
• Coordinates unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and labor management
• Conducts period inventory and payroll-related expense controls
• Ensures compliance with Aramark policies and safety procedures
• Performs duties of Banquet Server or Restaurant Server as needed

Assists in managing and coordinating the Food and Beverage functions including both personnel and related information in accordance with ARAMARK standards and safety and sanitation policies.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Salaried rate for this position is $54,625.00 to $75,000.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

• Works directly with Food and Beverage Director to ensure the highest standards of customer service, controlling of costs and ensuring compliance with all Aramark Policies.


• Assigns and assists Line Service Workers assigned to department with individual tasks and duties.


• Checks special event function set-up and coverage, monitors functions as they occur and checks on clean-up activities.


• Monitors break cart service and Nourishment Hubs


• Monitors operations in all Food and Beverage Outlets


• Assists in training and scheduling of personnel.


• Performs human resource functions for recruiting, hiring, development, and retain front line team staff, including scheduling, evaluating, and training staff.


• Must be able to deal with guests courteously and efficiently.


• Must be able to lead, motivate, and relate to others


• Establish and maintain food production systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving of food related products.


• Coordinate and supervise unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, and labor management.


• Conduct period inventory.


• Establishes and controls, through department heads, payroll and other operating expenses in the Food and Beverage Department.


• Checks previous day's function areas for cleanliness.


• Spot checks bar sheets and ensures accurate inventory of alcohol.


• Monitors employee's time on a daily basis and records information for payroll input documentation.


• Inventories Special Function service ware.


• Ensures compliance of Aramark Alcohol Service Policy in all locations.

• Performs duties of a Banquet Server or Restaurant Server as required.


• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Tasks and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.


• Follows ARAMARK policies and procedures and safety and sanitation policies and procedures and insures compliance with these policies and procedures.


• Responsible for oversight of Micros system including voids, comps and corrections.

Qualifications

• Must possess general knowledge of food and beverage and service procedures, generally involving two (2) years previous working experience in banquet style functions.


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred


• Strong interpersonal skills


• Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships


• Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model


• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments to a unified food service experience for all customers


• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb.


• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
