ATCAA Food Bank Operations Assistant supports daily program operations, including safe food handling, inventory, shipping/receiving, and vehicle and facility maintenance. This role helps secure foods for local and out-of-area locations and coordinates with volunteers.

Reporting to the Food Bank Operations Manager, you’ll recruit and supervise volunteers, arrange orders, manage inventory processes, and maintain documentation and records to ensure smooth service delivery.

Qualifications

• Possess a continuously valid California Driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Own dependable transportation.
• Have basic computer skills.
• Have demonstrated organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist with all food bank program operations to include general facility, equipment, and vehicle maintenance with logs.
• Practice safe food handling procedures and upkeep of MSDS log.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to complete assignments.
• Arrange orders, procure supplies, and coordinate drives to maintain program stock and partnerships.
• Coordinate inventory processes and perform reconciliations and documentation.
• Supervise volunteers in loading/unloading and delivering foods to sites.
• Support events and other operational tasks as assigned.

Description

Definition : The ATCAA Food Bank Program Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day to day program operations of the Food Bank which includes: safe food handling, inventory processes, shipping, receiving, loading and securing of foods for delivery, distribution, maintenance of vehicles, facility and warehouse equipment and acquiring foods for local and out of area locations.

Supervises: Volunteer Drivers and Volunteer Driving Assistants, Volunteer Inventory Clerks, Volunteer Shipping and Receiving Clerks, Volunteer Clerical Assistants, Maintenance Volunteers, Event Volunteers, Bag and Sort Volunteers

Job Duties and Responsibilities Related to This Position :

Assist with all food bank program operations to include:

• General maintenance of facility, equipment, and vehicles, including maintaining necessary logs;
• Practice of safe food handling procedures, including upkeep of MSDS log;
• Recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers to accomplish assignments;
• Arranging orders, procurement and assist with drives to maintain adequate program supplies as well as maintain food bank partnerships for supplies with other food bank associations such as Feeding America and Farm To Family;
• Coordinating inventory processes for all direct service programs including receipting, stocking, rotation of stock, order pulling, physical inventory reconciliations;
• Maintaining operational program documentation including inventories, invoices, orders, reconciliations, schedules, etc.;
• Supervising volunteers to pick up and deliver foods to pre-determined sites in foothills and Central Valley (includes loading and unloading trucks);
• Food Bank events and other operational tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
