Summary

Position Summary

Responsible for the setup, operation, and closing of all front and back of the house snack bar areas, including food preparation, food service and dining areas. Must be able to handle all guest requests.

Promotes and exhibits World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employee and guests.

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.   • Ensures all food preparation, food service and dining areas are stocked and clean.
  • Preps food items as needed to support kitchen staff
  • Trains team members in the venue procedures, standards and methods in guest service and food preparation.
  • Upholds all service standards as defined for the company and the position of Food Attendant.
  • Greets quests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Assists in bussing and cleaning tables.
  • Takes orders from guests accurately and processes orders through the POS terminal in a timely manner.
  • Performs accurate and timely registering of cash, credit or debit card, and all other payments and transactions.
  • Food Attendant (beverage) has the capabilities to sell, serve and dispense alcoholic beverages. They must always be in compliance with our policies and regulations related to alcohol service and they may not over-serve any guest.
  • Complies with all IRC policies and procedures regarding payment transactions and assures the authenticity of transactions by checking ID’s as required.
  • Counts cash and cash items at the beginning and at the end of the shift, and reconciles those items with the impress cash balance in accordance with IRC policies and procedures.
  • Completes reports as required.
  • Performs each complete financial transaction one at a time. Is alert for fraud. Does not make another financial transaction with customer until the food service billing is complete, including providing customer with any change due.
  • Prepares food and drink items according to the needs of the outlet.
  • Delivers food and drink to guests at counter or in dining areas in a timely and hospitable manner.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and proper appearance of all areas.
  • Ensures the safe, sanitary service of all goods.
  • Promotes and ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement.
  • Greets internal and external guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Gives basic instruction and information on all promotions and special events, as requested.
  • Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma and/or General Educational Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA; Alcohol awareness programs; New Mexico Beverage
  • Minimum six (6) months cash handling or food service preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Alcohol Servers Certification, required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Indian Health Services Food Handler’s Certification, required.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
  • Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
  • Must acquire POIGRA Alcohol Server License, required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be able to take direction and feedback well.
  • Must have essential experience operating POS (Point of Sale) systems and Cash Handling Skills.
  • Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details such as number and measurements.
  • Must be able to communicate, in writing and verbally, in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic functions.
  • Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.
  • Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.
  • Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.
  • Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess working knowledge of and be able to adhere to all OSHA and HACCP standards and regulations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment.
  • Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds intermittently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:

Smoke filled environment, exposure to various lights and sounds. May, on occasion be required to work outdoors. Occasionally may deal with angry or hostile individuals. Must be on call at all times. May work holidays, weekends, and different shifts.
