Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers meals and maintains kitchen cleanliness.
• Accurately prepares trays for general and therapeutic diets.
• Verifies tray accuracy and delivers trays to patient care units.
• Cleans and maintains the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.
• Washes, sanitizes, and stores trays, dishes, and utensils.
• Sets up serving line according to menus and instructions.
• Stocks and maintains supply levels for upcoming meals.
• Assists with inventorying and storing incoming food supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

A Food and Nutritional Services Worker who excels in this role:

• Prepares and delivers meals, maintains kitchen cleanliness, and supports food service operations to ensure quality, safety, and satisfaction for patients and staff.
• Accurately prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets, including special diet items as required.
• Verifies tray accuracy and delivers trays or snacks to patient care units as requested.
• Cleans and maintains the kitchen, storage areas, and food preparation equipment.
• Washes, sanitizes, and stores trays, dishes, and utensils.
• Sets up the serving line with cold foods, condiments, utensils, and serving containers according to menus and instructions.
• Stocks and stores food items and maintains appropriate supply levels for upcoming meals.
• Assists with inventorying and storing incoming food supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

• Maintains high standards for cleanliness, accuracy, and service.
• Works effectively under pressure and follows safety and sanitation procedures.

What we're looking for

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Skills & Experience:

• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be customer service oriented and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Schedule

PRN (as needed)

This position does not have a set weekly schedule. You'll be called in to work when extra help is needed - such as covering for someone, handling busy periods, or filling gaps in the schedule. Hours can vary from week to week, and there's no guaranteed hours.
