Job summary

Tallmadge Health & Rehab Center is seeking a full-time Dietary Services Manager to lead the operation of the food service department in a skilled nursing setting. You will supervise staff, handle staffing, ordering, meal preparation and delivery, and ensure daily, compliant food safety and sanitation aligned with resident care plans and regulations.

• Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and a Food Handler level II or state-approved food safety cert.
• Must be a certified food service manager or have a national certification in food service management and safety.
• Or hold an associate degree in food service management or hospitality with relevant coursework.
• In states with standards, meet state requirements for food service managers.

• Ensure food safety and kitchen sanitation in line with policies and regulations.
• Coordinate with residents' care plans and physician orders.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job is to manage the operation of the food service department to include staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, food delivery, food safety and kitchen sanitation in accordance with community policies, physician orders, resident care plans and within thecurrent federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the community. Assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and supervise food service staff.

Education/Qualification:

• Must possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent and must possess a Food Handler level II or similar food safety certification per state specific requirement.

Must also be:

1. A certified food service manager; or

2. Have similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body; or

3. Have an associate’s or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning; and

4. In States that have established standards for food service managers or food service managers, meets State requirements for food service managers or food service managers.
