Job summary

Saber Healthcare Group in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a dedicated food service manager to run the facility’s dietary operations across staffing, ordering, meal preparation, delivery, safety and sanitation. You will ensure daily delivery of high‑quality nutritional services, supervise kitchen staff, and uphold state and federal standards.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent and must possess a Food Handler level II or similar food safety certification per state specific requirement.
• Must be a certified food service manager or have national certification in food service management and safety.
• May hold an associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality with relevant study.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operation of the food service department, including staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, delivery, and sanitation.
• Ensure quality nutritional services daily and supervise food service staff.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local standards and resident care plans.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job is to manage the operation of the food service department to include staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, food delivery, food safety and kitchen sanitation in accordance with community policies, physician orders, resident care plans and within thecurrent federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the community. Assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and supervise food service staff.

Education/Qualification:

• Must possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent and must possess a Food Handler level II or similar food safety certification per state specific requirement.

Must also be:

• 1. A certified food service manager; or
• 2. Have similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body; or
• 3. Have an associate’s or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning; and
• 4. In States that have established standards for food service managers or food service managers, meets State requirements for food service managers or food service managers.

Shift & Wage:

• Full-Time Opportunity Available

• Wage: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
