Job summary

Oliver Inc. on Long Island, NY, is seeking an experienced folding-gluer operator to join our Finishing team. You will set up, adjust, and run Bobst or similar folding-gluer equipment to meet exact specs, ensuring quality and safety on a fast-paced line.

This role requires reading job tickets, using calipers and gauges, performing routine maintenance, and collaborating with teammates to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Shift: 2nd Shift; locations: Cleveland, OH and Long Island, NY.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating folding–gluer equipment in packaging or folding-carton manufacturing.
• Hands-on with Bobst or similar machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate folding–gluer equipment to meet exact specifications.
• Configure feeder, glue systems, plates, and inspection devices.
• Tune folding sequence, glue application, caliper, scoring alignment, and carton integrity.
• Set up and run automated inspection systems and monitor output.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Read job tickets, confirm schedules, and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Complete end-of-run cleanup and keep area organized and safe.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.

We’re growing our Finishing team and seeking a seasoned professional who takes pride in building quality through every fold and bead of glue.

What You’ll Do

You’ll independently set up, adjust, and operate folding–gluer equipment to meet exact specifications, balancing output, accuracy, and safety through the run. Your day may include:

• Configuring feeder, glue systems, plow and fold plates, compression sections, the pack station, and in-line quality inspection devices.
• Tuning equipment for proper folding sequence, glue application, paperboard caliper, scoring alignment, and carton integrity.
• Setting up and running automated, computer-controlled inspection systems to assure quality.
• Monitoring output continuously and making precise adjustments to maintain consistency.
• Performing routine preventive maintenance and handling minor repairs.
• Reading job tickets and layouts, confirming schedules, and maintaining accurate inventory counts.
• Completing end‑of‑run cleanup and keeping the area organized and safe.
• Following all safety procedures and contributing ideas to continuous improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Previous experience operating folding–gluer equipment in printing, packaging, or folding-carton manufacturing (preferred).
• Hands‑on background with Bobst or similar machines (highly preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for both process and quality issues.
• Knowledge of glue systems, scoring, folding sequences, and carton construction.
• Ability to interpret job tickets and production layouts; comfortable using calipers, rulers, and gauges.
• Solid math competency, including measurements and unit conversions.
• Exceptional attention to detail; collaborative communicator.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
