Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist in clearing bar area and keeping it free of dirty/empty items.
• Retrieve bread, cheese, pepper, salt for bar diners so bartenders can stay stationned behind the bar.
• Refill guests' water glasses as needed.
• Assist in bussing and support duties to ensure excellent service regardless of volume.
• Acknowledge guests with eye contact and a smile; escalate questions to appropriate staff.
• Confirm and stock liquor, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages at shift start; replenish as needed.
• Keep bar stocked with glassware, silverware, and plates for guests.
• Assist bartenders with garnishes and beverage prep.
• Clean and wipe bar counter, refrigerators, and coolers nightly and as needed.
• Keep bar organized and tidy; replenish coffee and milk products for bar area.
• Sort and remove trash from bar area; handle back-of-house disposal as directed.
• Assist in removing bar mats, espresso equipment, and drip coffee urns.
• Conduct thorough breakdown and cleaning of bar area at close of shift.

Position Purpose

This person will assist the bartender with steps of service and work in a team environment to quickly stock/restock beer, wine, liquor, and non-alcoholic beverages; china, glassware, and silverware; paper products, garnishes, and anything else needed by the bar team to provide service.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Assist in clearing the bar counter to ensure they remain free of dirty/empty items.
• Retrieve bread/cheese/pepper/salt for bar diners so bartender can stay stationed behind the bar.
• Refill guests’ water glasses as needed.
• Assist in bussing/support duties at the bar, at the direction of management, to ensure that all guests receive excellent service regardless of business volume.
• Acknowledge all guests with eye contact and a smile, being able to answer questions when able – if not, follow through to find the appropriate employee to respond to guest request.
• Confirm and stock pars for all liquor, wine, beer, and n/a beverages at start of shift (see separate par sheet) and replenish as needed throughout the service and at end of shift.
• Keep the bar stocked with appropriate glassware, silverware, and plates to serve the guests.
• Assist bartenders in replenishing/cutting any beverage garnishes needed for cocktails.
• Clean/wipe down bar counter and refrigerators and coolers at the bar every night and as needed.
• Keep the bar organized and tidy.
• Replenish coffee and milk products for the coffee area at the bar.
• Sorts and removes trash from bar area, places in designated areas in the back of the kitchen.
• Assist in removing bar mats, espresso dump box, and drip coffee urns.
• Conduct thorough breakdown and cleaning of bar area at close of shift.
• Clean up any broken glass or spills throughout the shift.
• Ability to work efficiently, maximizing each trip to/from bar.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the bar and prioritize accordingly.
• Ability to learn and remember details about our products and be able to use that knowledge to stock the correct items.

Minimal Essential Requirements
