Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, Camden, SC, is seeking a Foam Room Operator to support daily foam processing operations in a safety-conscious, LEAN manufacturing environment. The role emphasizes equipment startup/shutdown, troubleshooting, and collaboration with the area team leader.

You will operate chemical processing systems, perform preventive maintenance, monitor controls, and document readings while coordinating with maintenance and production to ensure safe, efficient line performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; 3+ years’ experience with chemicals and mechanical systems.
• Ability to wear respirator and PPE
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated; strong team player with minimal supervision
• Dependability; good attendance and punctuality
• Basic computer skills required
• If you have taken a chemical operator or process operations course, indicate on resume
• Able to repeatedly climb stairs/ladders

Responsibilities

• Operate chemical processing systems safely and efficiently.
• Support startup/shutdown, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor process control systems and respond to alarms.
• Record readings and material usage; calculate yields as required.
• Inspect for leaks, hazards, and perform required paperwork.
• Assist in plant repairs and inspections with technical personnel.
• Maintain process parameters daily and ensure standard settings after TPM.
• Liaise between production and maintenance; participate in process improvement projects.
